Earlier this week, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried unveiled at a press conference the state’s new Cannabis Director, Holly Bell. Holding a degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University, Bell previously worked as a cannabis consultant and was instrumental in helping the state of Tennessee build its industrial hemp program. Stating that hemp has the potential to be a “multibillion-dollar industry,” Fried said that Bell would work with both farmers and scientists to help develop the state’s burgeoning hemp industry. Bell will also be responsible for overseeing and implementing the state’s medical cannabis program as well.
