Lawmakers in Idaho want to make it legal to transport hemp and hemp-based products through the state. On April 3, 2019, the state House Ways and Means Committee introduced a measure that would do just that. Under the measure, the director of the Idaho State Police to issue permits to companies wishing to transport hemp through the state. Meanwhile, the state Senate has approved a bill that would fully legalize hemp cultivation in the state. Although the measure initially had the support of the House as well, changes to the measure by the Senate has caused several House members to with draw their support.
