Hemp flower is legal in Switzerland, but for many the price is too high. Earlier this month, the Swiss Federal Administrative Court ruled that hemp flower sales should be taxed at 25%. The court justified the tax by saying that hemp flower is often smoked in a manner similar to tobacco, and as such should be taxed the same way. Under the previous law, hemp flower was only taxed at 12%. In addition to the 25% sales tax, wholesale hemp flower will be taxed at $38 per kilogram.
