As states continue to crack down on hemp and hemp-derived products, states like Texas are starting to the embrace economic boom that is legal hemp. Last week the Texas Department of State Health Services announced that hemp would be removed from the state’s list of controlled substances on April 5, 2019. However, the ruling only pertains to hemp itself. Several days after the announcement, Texas law enforcement officials raided several retail stores selling CBD products, although no arrests were made.
