After extensive deliberation, Wyoming has finally submitted the proposed rules for its industrial hemp program. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) now has 60 days to approve or deny the regulations. Although nothing is set in stone, it is unlikely that the USDA will approve Wyoming’s proposed regulations, but only because the department itself hasn’t finalized its hemp regulations. According to Sonny Perdue, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, the department will most likely have rules in place for the 2020 growing season.
